You're Gonna Be Popular

When someone asks which of our three suites is my favourite, I tell them that the North Star is my personal choice, but that I think the Under Hill will be our most popular suite.

I absolutely love the North Star’s many massive iconic sculptures and the ship wedged into its tower makes me smile every time I see it. However, I think the Under Hill enkindles a very common dream of living in a snug underground burrow. It is a romantic notion few of us have the opportunity to indulge!

After I’ve given my answer, I ask them which suite is their favourite. Every suite has its fair share of advocates — although many people insist that (like their children) they love them all equally. It’s hard to say which suite really will be the crowd pleaser.

Having said that — since we have been accepting requests to notify people when a particular suite is open for reservations — we do have a little bit of hard data we can use to answer the question of which suite will be most popular. Totalling up the requests for each suite shows that, as expected, they are pretty evenly requested. However, so far the Copper Crown is edging out the other suites. Which proves you shouldn’t underestimate the allure of a fairytale castle!

Do you have a favourite suite? You are welcome to request a notification — we would be more than happy to let you know when your choice is ready for you!

Ready For Insulation!

The interior spaces of the Copper Crown suite are clean and prepared for the arrival of our friends at Element Spray Foam first thing tomorrow. The space is cavernous and lofty, befitting a castle and difficult to photograph without a wide-angle lens. As a point of reference, the scaffold is about seventeen feet tall. The beginnings of the arched ceilings and beams are already blocked in. These ceilings and beams will be filled out fully once as the insulation is in place. It will be great to spend the winter working in a climate-controlled space!

The Signs Of The Hazelnut Inn - Part Two

The Hazelnut Inn has some unique signs and Copper Crown Suite’s signs are a prime example. They harken back to the days when signs relied on images more than words.

The suite’s main sign features a large copper crown anchored to the wall with a dimensional wrought iron bracket.

Below this sign an amazing gate leads into the suite’s private garden. Crafted from hundreds of individual pieces of steel, it manages to be both imposing and welcoming.

These signs hint at the wonders that are yet to be discovered inside the Copper Crown Suite…

Sprinklers Installed

Each week a little more of the later to be hidden infrastructure of the Hazelnut Inn is completed. This past week it was the fire sprinkler crew who wrangled the necessary pipes. threading them through the trusses, beams, vaults and domes. We had a great crew who were up to the challenge. When we finish our theme work they won’t be noticed by our guests.
